What is PMU?

Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic technique that involves the application of pigment to enhance the natural features of the face. It is a form of tattooing that involves the use of a needle to deposit pigment into the skin, creating a long-lasting effect. The most common areas for permanent makeup application are the eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. Some people also choose to have permanent makeup applied to their areolas or to camouflage scars. The procedure can take several hours to complete, and there may be some discomfort and swelling afterward. The pigment will fade over time, but permanent makeup typically lasts several years before needing to be touched up.

Q: How long does it last?

Permanent makeup will last around 2-3 years depending on outside factors such as aftercare & sun exposure. I will explain this all during the process to help you look after them.

Q: Does it hurt?

No, we use numbing cream throughout the treatment. Often clients fall asleep & enjoy the relaxation.

Q:Can I have them done for my holiday?

It’s best to keep your brows out of the sun for at least 2 weeks whilst healing. You also have your 6 week top up to think about too, this will be the same 2 week healing process.

Make sure you plan your brows in to be fully healed in time for your holidays.

Q: What is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure in which pigments are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin to enhance or mimic the appearance of makeup. It involves the application of pigments to areas such as eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips, resulting in long-lasting, semi-permanent makeup.

Q: How long does permanent makeup last?

The longevity of permanent makeup varies depending on factors such as the individual's skin type, lifestyle, and the specific technique used. Generally, it can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years before requiring a touch-up. Over time, the pigments may fade, and periodic touch-ups are recommended to maintain the desired look.

Q: Is permanent makeup painful?

The level of discomfort experienced during permanent makeup procedures can vary from person to person. Most individuals report feeling minor discomfort or a sensation similar to getting a tattoo. Topical anesthetics are usually applied to the treated area to minimize any potential discomfort.

Q: Can anyone get permanent makeup?

While most individuals can undergo permanent makeup procedures, certain factors may limit eligibility. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with certain skin conditions or diseases, and those prone to keloid scarring may not be suitable candidates. It is important to consult with a professional to assess individual suitability and discuss any concerns.

Q: How should I care for my permanent makeup?

Please refer to my before & after section of website.

Proper aftercare is essential to ensure the longevity and healing of permanent makeup. Avoiding excessive sun exposure, swimming, saunas, and harsh chemicals during the healing process is crucial. Following the technician's instructions regarding cleaning, moisturizing, and protecting the treated area is also important. Regular touch-ups and adherence to a skincare routine can help maintain the desired results.

Q: Can permanent makeup be removed or modified?

While the term "permanent" is used, the pigments used in permanent makeup can fade over time. However, complete removal can be challenging, and the results may vary. Techniques such as laser tattoo removal or saline tattoo removal can be used to lighten or remove unwanted permanent makeup. It is advisable to consult with a professional to discuss the available options for modification or removal.
